If you are considering buying a home, we would always recommend that you contact an Independent Financial Advisor (IFA). They will be able to advise you on the best route to take based on your individual circumstances. They will take into consideration your monthly incomings and outgoings and make recommendations based on what you can afford.
Always check that the advisor is 'whole of market' to make sure that no particular mortgage product is being sold to you.
We work with a range of financial advisors who are familiar with both the Help to Buy and Shared Ownership schemes.
If you are purchasing your home through Help to Buy your developer may have recommended a financial advisor to you. However, if you wish to use a different one we have a panel who are all familiar with the Help to Buy: Equity Loan scheme.
You can find our Help to Buy and Shared Ownership IFA lists in the ‘useful downloads’ below.
If you have any comments or feedback for us after speaking with one of our recommended advisors, please let us know
If you are concerned about the costs of owning a house you can use the budget tool from The Money Advice Service which can be found on the link below.
